Photochromic pigments change color when exposed to ultraviolet light, usually from the sun or a black light. The pigments are effectively colorless indoors and turn into vibrant color, outdoors. When brought back inside, the pigments become clear again.
The photochromic pigment have generally been used in paints, inks, dyes and dyed fabrics etc. Finished products could be Doll hair, toy products, sunglasses, lunch boxes, crayons, jelly shoes, hair clips, hair combs, shoestrings, coasters, craft beads, PVC belts, watch bands, drinking straws, spoons, cups, frisbees, combs, greeting cards, stickers, business cards, UV detection devices, T-shirt, security badges, garments of all sorts, nail polish and so on.
Principle of color change:
The photochromic pigment is colorless indoors or when there is no uv light.
It will change colors when it exposes to sunlight/uv light outside and absorbs the energy of sunlight/uv light.
And revert to its original color when sunlight/uv light is dimmed or blocked.
